Support the iRead Contest & Raise Money to Support the Author Visit Program

Join the 112 Education Foundation on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 9 am - 3 pm at the Highland Park Public Library for the iRead kick-off contest.  Throughout the day, teachers will be reading, children’s authors will be on hand talking about their books and signing copies, and storyteller Chris Fascione will give two performances.  From January 10th through 30th, students track their minutes read and raise money by getting sponsors.  The NSSD 112 school with the most minutes read per student wins the coveted iRead trophy and all readers and fundraisers receive prizes!  This fundraiser supports the Author Visit programs in our schools.  Forms will be distributed in class the week of January 5th and must be turned into teachers by February 3rd.  Students who attend the library kick-off receive an extra 30 minutes of reading time!  Check the 112 Education Foundation website or facebook page after winter break for a schedule of teacher read alouds at the library.
